Increasingly ASC certified

In February 2013, the first ASC certified farmed pangasius became available. Ever since, an increasing number of pangasius farms became ASC certified. Currently, there are 43 ASC certified farms in the Mekong Delta supplying ASC certified pangasius, accounting for a large part of exported pangasius.
ASC certification guarantees consumers that the fish they purchase has been responsibly farmed with respect for the environment and social aspects. In line with this development, the consumption of pangasius with ASC certification increased significantly worldwide.
Number of ASC certified companies continues to rise
With support of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the number of certified companies continues to increase.
Legislation on sustainable and responsible panga
Besides, the Vietnamese government will implement a new decree by 2016 that requires all national pangasius farms and supply chain companies to be certified to the ASC standard or equivalent.
The decree on pangasius farming, processing and exporting has been drafted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
