Exports of Vietnamese pangasius to the three largest markets China  – Hong Kong, the US and the EU are doing well. During the first seven months of 2018, total exports of Vietnamese pangasius amounted to $1.2 billion. This is 19.3% more than during the same period last year.

Positive growth of exports to EU

During the last three years, exports of Vietnamese pangasius to the EU have collapsed. But, exports to this market are rising again. From January until July 2018, exports to the EU have rebounded with a value of $139.1 million, which is an increase of 16.5% year on year. The largest growth markets were Italy and the Netherlands, with growth rates of respectively 83.1% and 43%. This year, Vietnamese pangasius exports to Italy had a value of $14 million and exports to the Netherlands $38.1 million.
