Brazilians love football, and increasingly express their love for pangasius as well
Fast growing market for panga
In 2013, Brazil imported for more than US$ 100 million worth of pangasius. It showed a growth of more than 50% compared to 2012. This was the highest recorded growth of the main markets for Vietnam’s pangasius products. After the USA, EU and Southeast Asia, Brazil is now the 4th most important market for panga. In Brazil, pangasius has become one of the most favorite whitefish species on the menu.
Pangasius a winner in Brazil
We don’t know who will be the winner of the world cup this year. But It’s fair to say that pangasius seems to be a winner when it comes to fish consumption.
